Paris | First Impressions | Where to go for brunch

Skôr než sa vrhnem do megačlánku so streetstylom z Parížskeho Fashion Weeku, mojimi dojmami a zážitkami (už sa teším na ten Pražský, aj vy?), tu je pár first-impressions z Paríža. Skočili sme tam s mojím mužom na 5 dní, na semi-pracovný-semi-výletný trip, a takto by som to zhrnula:
Before I bring you a mega-piece with my experience and photos of streetstyle from Paris Fashion Week AW2017 (already looking forward to the Prague one), I prepared some quick tips and my first impressions from Paris. I went there with my boyfriend for a semi-working, semi-vacation trip and here is what I found out.
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT PARIS:
- picturesque streets of Montmartre
- walking along the Seine river
- grandiose streets, squares and architecture in the centre, reminding me a bit of either Prague or Budapest
- restaurants with outdoor seating and great brunch menus you can enjoy throughout the whole day
- people enjoying themselves and chit-chatting with their friends in those restaurants, even in early-spring rainy weather
- free tap water with your order
- meeting Lucie in one of the must-visit places in Paris--Cafe de Flore
- great pastry
- night visit of sparkling Eiffel tower
- Sacre Coeur and the nice views of Paris
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- Three days of neverending rain and running around in wet sneakers
- The streets outside the centre were a bit dirty
- Families of homeless people camping on Champs-Élysées
- Parisians, who are not as chic as I originally thought
- Parisians, who don't speak English, just as I heard
- Car culture with a lot of noise and exhaust gasses in the city
WHERE TO GO FOR BRUNCH:
- Holybelly - allegedly the best brunch in Paris. And it was really good. But the place is really crowded and you can easily spend half an hour in a queue outside.
- Blackburn coffee - even a tad better than Holybelly in my view. And they have free wifi. You have to go for Oeuf cocotte if you visit!
- Café de Flore - the ultimate venue for every instagrammer. Unfortunately, we didn't get the round table outside. Nevertheless, both omelette and coffee were delicious, so we survived being in a slightly less photogenic part of the restaurant
- Benedict - maybe you've guessed it by the name, yes, Benedict eggs, prepared in different ways for the whole day (but it's also a proper restaurant with daily lunch menu)
- Any bakery along the way, we went to Huré - supersoft croissants and maybe the best non-sweet pastry ever
I think there are other European cities which I enjoyed more than Paris. Barcelona, for example. Maybe we were just unlucky with the rainy weather we had in Paris and Barcelona is a paradise for all foodies. It's true, though, that Paris has much more to offer. I'm already looking forward to our next visit, as we've only managed to visit a couple of places. I'm sure Paris will get another chance to prove it's a great city to us. What about you? ČO MA NA PARÍŽI BAVILO:
- malebné uličky Montmarteru
- prechádzka popri Seine
- veľkolepé centrum, pri ktorom som sa nevedela rozhodnúť, či mi tá architektúra pripomína viac Prahu alebo Budapešť
- terasy reštaurácií a výborné raňajkové menu počas celého dňa
- ľudia baviaci sa na týchto terasách za každého počasia (!)
- džbán plný vody ku všetkému zadarmo
- stretnutie s Lucii v najviac vychýrenej kaviarni Café de Flore
- chutné pečivo
- nočná blikajúca Eifelovka
- kopec na ktorom je Sacre Coeur a výhľad na Paríž
ČO MA NA PARÍŽI NEBAVILO:
- tri dni neprestajného lejaku a premočené topánky
- špina a neporiadok mimo centra
- celé bezďácke rodiny s malými deťmi kempujúce na uliciach
- Parížania, ktorí vôbec nie sú štýloví, ako sa o nich hovorí
- Parížania, ktorí nevedia po anglicky, presne ako sa o nich hovorí
- hluk, smrad z výfukov, autá a skútre úplne všade
KAM NA BRUNCH
- Holybelly - vraj najlepší brunch v meste. A bol skutočne výborný, no na miesto čakáte aj pol hodinu
- Blackburn coffee - podľa mňa predčil i Holybelly a majú aj free wifi
- Café de Flore - ultimátne miesto pre každého instagramera. Bohužial nás s Lucy neposadili k okrúhlym stolčekom na terase, ale omeleta i kafé výborné, tak sme to prežili i vo vnútri
- Benedict - na vajíčka benedikt, ktoré tu podávajú na tisíc spôsobov
- ktorákoľvek pekáreň po ceste, napríklad Huré - najvláčnejšie croisanty i slané pečivo ever
Asi sú európske mestá, ktoré ma uchvátili viac. Napríklad Barcelona. Asi lebo chladný a upršaný marec vs. slnečný záver apríla, plus Barcelona je úplný raj pre všetkých foodies. Paríž má toho ale omnoho viac čo ponúknúť, než co sme stihli my, takže už sa teraz teším, až sa vrátim a dám mu ešte šancu. Ako pôsobil na vás, ak ste tu boli, a ktoré európske mesto na vás zanechalo zatiaľ najväčší dojem?

OdstrániťNo to fakt neviem, ako by som sa s nimi dorozumela, po anglicky to s nimi ide aj ako píšeš strašne ťažko. A že nie sú štýloví to som dosť prekvapená, možno je to v tých všetkých knihách o francúzskom štýle nadhodnotené.

OdpovedaťOdstrániťNabudúce skús menej turistické kaviarne ako je Café de Flore a dostaneš aj stôl na terase.:)
Odporúčam napríklad Boulevard du Montparnasse alebo kaviarne okolo Sorbonny v Latinskej štvrti.
Ale možno len máme iný vkus. Mne sa napríklad páči viac Madrid ako turistami prepchatá Barcelona.
Wow ten tvuj outfit? Smekam! O tom ze parizane nejsou zas tak moc modni ikony uz jsem slysela. To mas jako s ceskejma ponozkama v sandalech. Taky nejsou zdaleka tak cesky, potkas je po celem svete ;))) v dansku jsou zas vsichni stylovi, ale zase- vsichni vypadaji temer stejne, zadna originalita, vsak to sama znas ;)
OdpovedaťOdstrániť- ja pri kazde ze svych sedmi parizskych navstev uzdibla z jinyho sousta, co tohle pestry mesto nabizi a mozna proto me jeste nikdy nezklamala
